Just take a moment and think what components would you use if someone offers you that money for building solely a home theater system? How many amplifiers would you take, how many and what kind of speakers would you install, how big screen would you use? Many questions there are, but Jeremy Kipnis decided to build an extraordinarily big and expensive system, that consists of the following components:

Sony BDP-S1 Blu-ray player,

Toshiba HD-XA1 HD DVD player,

Mark Levinson N° 51 DVD / CD Media Player,

30 McIntosh MC-2102 Amplifiers,

16 Snell 1800 THX Music & Cinema Reference subwoofers,

8 Snell THX Music & Cinema Reference towers,

a Sony SRX-S110 4K projector and

a 18- x 10-foot Stewart screen

Would you add anything? Of components I doubt, perhaps huge collection of HD DVD and BD movies and a gorgeous blond girl to put ‘em in the players :) Just kiddin’, if you want to see more pics of this system, check out this link.

They say diamonds are a girl’s best friend, but I think I’ll settle for just rubies as well – in this case, a ruby-studded HDTV. You get 155 of those glittering treasures to impress guests who think that their 46″ flat panel display at home is much better than your 40″ of viewing real estate.

This ruby- and HD-ready TV comes in an aluminum trolley and is fully customizable, allowing to to add more rubies (or other jewels, depending on your taste and budget). The 40″ model retails for a jaw-dropping $85,000 – with 32″, 40″ and 46″ sizes also available for discerning buyers. Whoever will go and buy this exquisite screen should hire a bodyguard and install security cameras in the house, since this baby would attract many unwelcome guests :)
