Still, no sign of 32 Paramount titles that were previously available… Ah, Paramount why do you tease us? Just when we thought we were finally going to get rid of that annoying asterisks once and for all, you seemly move back all the re-issues to June 3rd, and to make it worse, the most highly anticipated Paramount titles like Bee Movie, There Will Be Blood and Cloverfield are delayed as well — honestly we’re not sure who’s right at this point, but we’re going to error on the side of caution on this one.

But that doesn’t meant it isn’t a great week, as there are a number of titles to get excited about this week including what is easily the biggest in National Treasure 2: Book of Secrets.

Some people don’t think it’s worth it to replace a perfectly good DVD with a Blu-ray disc, while others feel it’s like enjoying the movie for the first time all over again. Either way, Disney hopes that the biggest title this week, The Chronicles of Narnia, will get you primed up for the sequel due out in theaters this Summer.

The biggest one is easily Cloverfield, which is obviously MIA because Paramount has yet to release any Blu-ray movies since going Red exclusive.

We have two sub-par horror flicks with One Missed Call having an unbelievably low IMDB score of 2.8 out of 10 and Sublime is pretty pitiful itself at 5.2. Your best bet this week is the Global Warming documentary from National Geographic, which looks interesting but is no Planet Earth.

We are only hoping that the next week will be more exciting…

However, this week the red ones  don’t have their new members, so the whole list is blue. Of the new titles, the only ones worth mentioning are classic movie Bonnie & Clyde and HD test disc  – Digital Video Essentials, HD Basics.

Blu-ray test disc will help enthusiasts and HDTV owners get the best possible picture with tools available on this disc, which is always good.  We have to admit that we don’t know what the difference between this long over due version, and the one previously available on HD DVD, though.

In the lines below you can view the full list. Total number for Blu-ray is now 478, which does not reflect 20 Paramount titles that were previously available.

They weren’t kidding.

The newest version of AnyDVD HD strips Blu-ray discs of BD+, allowing you to copy even the most locked-up Blu-ray discs (*cough*Fox*cough*) to your heart’s content—assuming the copies are for personal use, of course. On the DVD front, the updated software rips movies that can’t be read by Windows, and can now get around most ARccOS protection. Sounds like a reasonable temptation to all you pirate types, so run along, have at it and report back to us. [SlySoft]

The biggest title this week is easily No Country for Old Men, with its impressive 8.5 IMDB score, and sweeping the Academy Awards a few weeks ago taking just about everything including Best Picture.


Other interesting titles include Dogma, I, Robot and the Independance Day, which is highly anticipated title for many HD owners out there. Statistics are telling us that this week Blu-ray family got bigger by 10 new titles and HD DVD got only 3 new titles, which is mighty fine figure for a dead HD format. HD DVD would be bigger by one more title, Jerry Seinfeld shaped “Bee Movie”, but since Dreamworks discontinued production of HD DVD titles and turned “blue”, we won’t see this film in HD soon.
