New releases on Blu-ray
Monday, April 21st, 2008The big news this week is what’s not being released on Blu-ray, as the two biggest titles released today on DVD are not available in HD. The biggest one is easily Cloverfield, which is obviously MIA because Paramount has yet to release any Blu-ray movies since going Red exclusive.
HD programming to reach 44 million homes worldwide by year’s end

Based on a forecast by Informa Telecoms & Media, around 4-percent of worldwide households (read: not just homes with HDTVs) will “actively watch HD programming” before 2009 dawns.

Toshiba’s unbelievably tiny HD1 HDTV camera is world’s smallest
Sunday, April 6th, 2008Well, the camera head at least seems to be the smallest. Toshiba announced today it will be showing the IK-HD1 3CCD HDTV Camera at the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) in Las Vegas this month. The tiny hi def camera head only weighs 2.3 oz. and measures 1.6 inches.
